Job Description
The Power Electronics Engineer role will be responsible to understand VW Group's strategic R&D projects with an eye toward advancing them to the next level. This role is also responsible to carry out strategic technology development through partnerships for electrification. This role will be part of a team building Proof of Concepts and interfacing with both internal and external partners.Collaborate with project team to develop functional, validation and characterization test procedures for electrical/electronic componentsDesign systems with architectures and interfaces that safely and effectively meet requirementsSupport the development and optimization of electrical/electronics componentsContribute to complex, electrical-mechanical-software-controls engineering effortsSystematically track the most current and innovative technology trendsWork closely with engineers in order to asses and summarize new technologies and innovationsWork closely with suppliers and test labs to plan and track the progress
Job Requirements
- Effective time management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
- Experience in developing personal work plans and goals
- Ability to work effectively in a highly dynamic and diverse environment
- Technology evaluation methodsEducation And Skills Requirements
- MS, ME, or PhD in Power Electronics strongly preferred
- 3+ years of industry experience or equivalent
- Strong electromechanical fundamentals
- Electronics packaging technologies and materials
- Parasitic simulation
